These practices are worth maintaining as a default even before a specific disease is identified, since many common garden diseases share the same transmission pathways through moisture and contact.
When to reach for treatment and when to simply remove
For a disease caught early and limited to a few leaves or plants, removal and destruction, not composting, of the affected material is often sufficient without needing any fungicide or bactericide application. Treatment products become more relevant once a disease has established across a meaningful portion of a planting, and even then, copper based or other approved treatments work as suppression rather than a cure, buying time rather than eliminating an already established infection.
